Pyrmont Art Festival shines for third time
The Third Annual Pyrmont Art Festival held on Saturday 2nd May was a stunning success, Thousands of people enjoyed the sunlit ambience of Union Square to socialise and enjoy the sunshine while viewing nearly 300 pieces of art watching musical entertainment and street performers and having a sausage sizzle.
The event was again hosted by the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce with major sponsorship by City of Sydney and Star City among many other organisations that donated prizes and vouchers to promote local businesses.
Sixteen pieces of art were sold on the day.
MCA Curator Glenn Barkley and Sylvia Ross, Head, School of Art a the College of Fine Arts selected the Judges' Choice awards:
- 1st Prize - Coral Saunders "Market Dog 4"
- 2nd Prize - M. F. O'Brien "Sydney Farewell Dance"
- 3rd Prize - Wendy Lowe "The scene was set for a perfect day..."
The audience also selected the People's Chioice awards which went to:
- 1st Prize - Ann Cahill "Wet Walk Home"
- 2nd Prize - Raoul Moore "Pyrmont the Old & the New"
- 3rd Prize - Susan Boyle "Zoe"
