Goodbye Dolores...and good luck!

To many in the local community Dolores Element is the public face of Star City. Dolores is usually the first port of call for members of the local community seeking help for local projects. And more often than not, through Dolores, Star City answers the call for support for worthwhile community activities.

Just to name a few activities, Star City has helped:
·         Pyrmont’s fledgling Community Bank project by allowing its premises for the initial meetings by the foundation steering committee and the first formal Board meeting, as well as covering initial printing costs;
·         Generous help to the local church for the renovation of its stained glass window;
·         Sponsorship of local support for the Italian Opera Foundation;
·         Sponsorship with thousands of dollars in prizes for the last three Annual Pyrmont Art Festivals
·         Enabling Star City to host networking evenings for the Pyrmont-Ultimo Chamber of Commerce.
And, through Dolores’ good graces, Star city went so far as to provide alternative premises to St Bede’s, the local Catholic church for several weeks while the old wooden floor was being replaced.

Local community voluntary workers always are impressed by the pleasant manner in which Dolores always works with them to find a way for Star City to act sympathetically and effectively to community needs.
After 11 years in the one organisation Dolores has decided to call it a day. Dolores is taking a well-earned break and some mention is made of a sojourn in the South of France. Well, whatever path Dolores takes we in Pyrmont Progress wish her a safe and happy journey.
 Dolores is a skilled operator in public relations and has a Masters Degree in Communication. We are very sure that when Dolores wants to come back into organisational life there will be any number of employers vying for her talents.
